Phil Flora - Section Editor and Author

Phil has been an auditor for over 30 years. "I'm afraid I've become a dinosaur," Phil says with a smile. But actually, his years have been tempered with many hours of personal interaction with organizational members both as an auditor and a chief audit executive. His philosophy has been to effectively maintain (as much as possible) a positive perspective of those he audits and expects for them to retain a positive perspective of him, his work, and his colleagues in return for his efforts

Phil's desire to improve and expand the perspectives of auditors has driven him to participate at the local and international levels of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Inc. He has been a chapter officer (President) of the IIA Austin Chapter and serves as Committee Chair of the Committee of Education and Research Advisors, basically putting his philosophy to work for others.

Now retired from his 'day job,' Phil has begun a second career as an audit consultant and instructor. His experience and background make him a knowledgeable and credible speaker and author. He "knows from whence he speaks." Phil's writings are from his experience and is shared for all to consider.
